Claude Sonnet 3.5 shipped in two snapshots during 2024 and was, for a period, Anthropic's most widely used model for coding and general work. Both snapshots were deprecated on 13 August 2025 and retired on 28 October 2025; requests to them now fail.

What Claude Sonnet 3.5 is good at
This model is retired and no longer available. Anthropic retired claude-3-5-sonnet-20240620 / -20241022 on 28 October 2025. Anthropic's own recommended replacement is Claude Sonnet 4.6, and that is where this page points.
This page is kept deliberately rather than removed. Search demand for a model does not stop when its successor ships — people still look up Claude Sonnet 3.5's pricing and limits long afterwards — and a 404 answers nobody. The pricing and specification figures that were published for this model are no longer maintained here, because a retired model cannot be bought and a stale number is worse than none.
